The BIKE TO SCHOOL giveback event was a resounding success, addressing a pressing community issue in our area - the lack of accessible and sustainable transportation options for students. The event, organized in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services; Walk and Roll Long Beach program, aimed to alleviate transportation barriers for students. Attendees had the chance to win bicycles, promoting physical activity and independence. Valuable bike safety tips were provided, and winners registered their bikes with the City of Long Beach for added security. Additionally, there were pamphlets available on how to register for the Long Beach Transit GoPass Program, allowing LBUSD students to ride public transit for free.

The highlight of the event was the raffle drawing, where winners received high-quality bicycles, helmets, and locks. Other raffles offered various prizes, including shoes, accessories, food gift cards, and even a customized Private Sneakers Electric bicycle. To support students, backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed, ensuring everyone was well-prepared for the academic year. Community engagement was a key focus, with face painting and free haircuts provided for students and parents. Despite adverse weather conditions, the event brought the community together, fostering unity and excitement for the upcoming school year.
